Mashup Angels Makes Seed Investment in Southeast Asia Fashion & Lifestyle Cross-Border Platform ‘NoTag’

Early-stage startup–focused venture capital firm Mashup Angels (led by Managing Partner Taekkyung Lee) has made a seed investment in NoTag Korea (CEO Woong Choi), the operator of the Southeast Asia–focused fashion and lifestyle cross-border e-commerce platform “NoTag.”

Founded in April of this year, NoTag Korea is led by CEO Woong Choi, who previously worked as an export and distribution consultant for major global companies such as JD.com, NetEase Kaola, and Alibaba Korea. The team also includes specialists in international trade law from the UK’s BPP Law School and IT developers from POSTECH’s Computer Science Department.

NoTag is a cross-border e-commerce platform that distributes Korean fashion and lifestyle brands throughout Southeast Asia. The company provides a one-stop service for Korean fashion brands seeking to enter the Southeast Asian market, including local payment and delivery, customs clearance, logistics center and customer service operations, as well as local media promotion. The platform is currently active in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia.

More than 100 Korean fashion and lifestyle brands have officially joined NoTag, including COVERNAT, O!Oi, KIRSH, Stretch Angels, Louis Quatorze, and MARHEN.J. Partner brands can quickly upload and sell products through integrations with major local platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Pinkoi, and Zalora.

CEO Woong Choi stated, “With this investment, we plan to quickly establish branches and hire local talent in the five countries where NoTag operates, strengthening our fulfillment services and local marketing. Our goal is to minimize cross-border barriers between Korean brands and overseas consumers through IT technology and logistics innovation.”

Woojoong Kim, Investment Manager at Mashup Angels, explained the investment rationale: “While global interest in K-fashion brands has been rapidly increasing, Korean brands have faced difficulties exporting and distributing through global platforms due to complex procedures and high marketing costs. With CEO Woong Choi’s expertise in logistics and distribution, we expect NoTag to grow into the most convenient one-stop platform for Korean fashion brands to enter Southeast Asia.”

Additionally, NoTag has been selected as an official global online export platform by four government and public agencies: Design Korea Shop (Korea Institute of Design Promotion), CAST Shop (Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange), KCDF Shop (Korea Craft & Design Foundation), and GGD Shop (Gyeonggi Province Corporation).

Founded in 2013 by Daum co-founder Taekkyung Lee, Mashup Angels specializes in ICT-sector startup investments and currently serves as a TIPS program operator, with early-stage investments in 133 startups, including Bucketplace (Today’s House), StyleShare, WonderRabbit (CashWalk), Finda, Noom, Humanscape, Encode (Decode), Shiftee, Omnious, and Jakdangmoui (Jamface).
